Worcester Rescue Dog show
26th September 2010
Chilly and exuberant dog lovers took to Worcester racecourse today in aid of Worcester Animal Rescue Shelter. The companion dog show was sponsored by Brentknoll Veterinary Centre and a surprising array of dog coats were modelled by their owners! I felt decidedly cold looking at the Chinese Crested with NO HAIR! A great day, well attended and new friends made.

Had a great Bank Holiday at the easel. One of my most challenging commissions to date. I have been given a 1 inch black & white passport photo by a lady in her 90’s. She would like me to paint a 16 x 20 inch oil of her as she was in her 40’s! No problem.... Watch this space.
Louise Bourgeois leaves us

At 98 Louise Bourgeois deserves our recognition. Her spiders are remniscent of Dali and his elephants, perhaps they shared similar fears?

Great Day for the Dog Show

Cracking venue and lots of support for the Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue Dog Show. The Paws for Thought Dog Display Team entertained all with flyball, and jumping through hoops of fire.

I wandered across the border into beautiful Worcestershire to enjoy the hot dogs and watch events unfold. The talented Band were reminiscent of an English summer which eventually appeared!

Right on my doorstep and a stunning afternoon with a win on the raffle! I now have picalilli to go on my cheese sandwiches.. Thank you to the creator. A lovely little venue enjoyed by all with a few puppies learning to socialise. My savoured moment was the whippet that won a toy in the raffle PURE JOY!

Golden Valley Pony Club Horse & Dog Show

Sunshine on the Black Mountains and glossy coated ponies in the grounds of the Baskerville Hall Hotel Clyro. The judge was hard pressed to declare a winner for the dog biscuit catching competition . Do you know a dog that can’t catch a biscuit?

Horse Whispers , Animal behaviour experts , specialist tack suppliers and craftsmen all joined forces to raise funds for Equine Market Watch . Mad Mutts Fun Dog Show was a family magnet with one canine winning best trick with a high 5!

Mexican Chicas

These lovely ladies commissioned me in celebration of their 50th year.
Mexico quaked with their festivities as they enjoyed each others company. I painted their sun kissed skins in oils for them to treasure forever.

I relished the challenge to paint a 16 x 20 inch oil portrait from a one inch photo. There were many discussions on the colour of the clothing and I took photos of the lady in her 90 to capture skin tones.
KC Horse Rescue

Busy day with a visit to Ludlow Hunt Pony Club. I also visited the Driving Carriage Show at Leominster which was raising funds for the KC Horse Rescue. The company offers a Carriage Service for weddings and funerals to help support its aim.

Medusa Rising
11th September 2010
The rock group Medusa Rising gathered for a photo shoot in the ruins of an 11th Century church in rural Herefordshire. This ancient hill top site commanded views of the Malvern Hills; Black Mountains; the Long Mynd and Clee Hill. A gig to help raise funds for the Air Ambulance was held that evening in a field at Wolferlow under a black star laden night sky which reverberated with the light show (!) and sound of classic rock. Another great band Nomad 67 stormed the night with their energy driven performance.
Leominster Vintage and Dog show
13th September 2010
Brilliant sunshine adorned the Vintage show on the outskirts of Leominster. Steam engines , farming relics of bygone years , shire horse ploughing and vintage cars ( complete with picnics ) My favourite was an old Ford prefect. The car parking area was dominated by modern 4x4’s.
The Fun Dog Show was well attended ranging from Dalmations to Dachsunds and Rescue dogs to show winners. Lynne Samuels enthusiastically organised the dog event.
Busy Christmas painting

O what a winter to remember we have all had! Lots of snow and trying to get all those jobs done ready for Christmas day. I guess things are not always in our control. Late orders unfortunately meant some late postal deliveries.... But an emailed Gift Token from Artist Louise helped salvage some last minute gifts problems.
